Indian Herpetological Society (IHS) was established in 1986 by a group of scientists, researchers and social activists to help in the rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals.

Although the society was initially concerned only with herpetology, it soon widened its horizons to include the conservation of the entire fauna of the region.

KEPL aided IHS in carrying out their tasks by donating the following equipment:
