Kirloskar Ebara Pumps Limited’s (KEPL) expertise in pump design and manufacturing, coupled with its commitment to innovation, has enabled the successful development and manufacturing of centrifugal pumps in ‘Titanium Gr-12’ material for a prominent bio refinery project. This  pump successfully built, assembled, performance-tested and shipped from KEPL’s Kirloskarvadi manufacturing plant. Titanium is a versatile metal known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance. Titanium alloys provide an even broader range of properties and performance characteristics compared to pure titanium, making them suitable for a wide variety of applications including pumps used in biorefineries.

This biorefinery project, located in the Northeastern part of the country, is India’s first facility dedicated to producing 2G bioethanol and other platform chemicals from cellulosic feedstock, primarily bamboo. This flagship initiative will serve as a benchmark for biorefineries across India, helping to supplement conventional energy and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, thus marking a significant step forward in the pursuit of greener energy solutions.
