Parallel to the company’s growth, KEPL believes in the growth of society and preservation of the environment to be of paramount importance. We ensure maximum sustainability in our manufacturing practices to maintain societal wellbeing and environmental consciousness. We have a sustainability policy in place that is followed by all the parts of the company.

We have been focused on enhancing renewable energy sources which are clean and non-polluting. To reduce our carbon footprint, we have installed solar PV panels on the rooftop of our manufacturing plant, at a capacity of 540 kW. This renewable energy contributes to 40% of our total electricity consumption at the plant. A green belt covers almost 35% of our factory. We have implemented extensive daylight harvesting, rainwater harvesting, biogas plants, Reduce – Reuse – Recycle concepts and several other sustainability initiatives. To minimise the impact on the environment, we are into continuous product innovations to reduce the life cycle cost of our products. Energy excellence assessment and energy audits are carried out by a team of external assessors at the manufacturing plant at regular intervals.

We have been publishing our Sustainability performance as a part of the Integrated Annual Report of Kirloskar Brothers Limited, which discloses our financial and non-financial performance per national and global frameworks.
